Impact Negotiations Pledge

Trainers and practitioners of Impact Negotiations share a commitment to adopt and spread negotiation mindsets, tools and practices that create value and positive impact for people, organizations, communities and the world.

By using the Impact Negotiations Toolkit and related materials, I pledge to:

  • Promote win-win approaches: I will teach and practice negotiation as a collaborative way to grow the pie and satisfy the parties’ true interests.
  • Avoid using power: I will not use Impact Negotiations materials to promote manipulation, coercion, win-lose or unethical tactics.
  • Focus on positive world impact: I will consider and will encourage others to consider not only their own interests, but also the effects on others, society and the planet.
  • Respect intellectual property: I will give proper attribution to the Impact Negotiations materials and to other authors’ materials, and will protect others’ intellectual property, using it only in accordance with the permissions I’ve received.
  • Develop the field: I will report activities and exchange feedback, lessons and innovations with the Impact Negotiations Network, adapting and enriching tools under the same license, and creating new materials with a focus on collaboration for impact.
  • Pay it forward: I will become a multiplier of Impact Negotiations, sharing with others what I’ve learned and stimulating them to pay it forward too.
