INSEAD DASH: How a 20-year tradition was negotiated
This year marks 20 years of the Dash, an INSEAD tradition created in Singapore on 11 June 2004. 🎂
Not everyone knows how it started: in a cubicle conversation, Stephen Pickup and I (2004Js) debated who reached campus faster – Stephen on his motorbike or me on foot. 🤔
Anthony Houlahan overheard us and converted the discussion into the first-ever Dash. ❤️ 🙌
For a few years, Anthony kept this blog updated with news of the growing tradition – you can read his ‘enhanced’ report of that initial cubicle discussion here and watch videos of several Dashes in other posts.
Thierry Férey led the video coverage and production, creating the epic short film that immortalized all the excitement of that morning. 🙏
A tradition requires a second event: Thierry and other 2004Ds organized Dash #2 a few months later... and the rest is history.
It was wonderful to see an INSEAD post about the latest Dash!
Long live The Dash!
