After almost half a century as a pedestrian trying to cross streets, I notice a pattern: more stripes, lines, signs, bumps, lights... to help people cross safely. 🚸 🚦

There is reason for optimism: around the world, more cities are reclaiming streets for people - expanding pedestrian areas, calming traffic, creating space where walking is a natural choice. 💕🙏
