Aya & Luca build bridges 🌉

ByNuno Delicado

Aya and Luca found other kids by the river – some from the neighboring village, some from far away.

Luca was excited: “Let’s build something together!”

“A boat!” said one.

“A bridge!” said another.

“A tower!” said a third.

Soon, everyone was building something different.

The river watched quietly as sticks fell, towers leaned and voices grew louder.

“Nothing works,” sighed Luca.

Aya sat down and drew a circle in the sand.

“Let’s start here.”

One by one, the children came closer.

“What if it can float and connect both sides?” someone whispered.

They restarted – now slower.

Listening. Adjusting. Laughing.

By sunset, a small floating bridge with a tower rested on the water, tied gently to both banks.

No one knew whose idea it was.

The kids crossed one by one.

The river flowed beneath... holding all efforts without choosing sides.

Sometimes, what we build together belongs to no one – and works for everyone.
